چکیده

Introduction: The relationship between calcium-alumnium-rich inclusions (CAIs) and chondrules remains poorly constrained. CAIs appear to be older than chondrules, as inferred from a higher initial 26 Al/ 27 Al in the former; a chronological interpretation of this difference leads to an age gap of ca.1-2Myr between the formation of CAIs and that of chondrules. However this chronological interpretation has been challenged by the suggestion that

Size and Density of Chondrule Formation Regions from Missing Isotopic Fractionation

Introduction: Chondrules were probably formed as freely floating molten droplets by brief, very energetic, events in the protoplanetary nebula. Melting of such small objects in the near-vacuum of the nebula should evaporate their more volatile elements, preferentially removing the lighter isotopes of these elements. Chondrules are depleted in their more volatile elements, but unlike other molte...

Chondrules: Precursors and interactions with the nebular gas

Chondrule compositions suggest either ferroan precursors and evaporation, or magnesian precursors and condensation. Type I chondrule precursors include granoblastic olivine aggregates (planetary or nebular) and fine-grained (dustball) precursors. In carbonaceous chondrites, type I chondrule precursors were S-free, while type II chondrules have higher Fe ⁄Mn than in ordinary chondrites. Many typ...

Oxygen Isotope Anatomy of a Compound Cai- Chondrule Inclusion from Efremovka

Introduction: We recently reported the discovery of E-MNHN-002, a compound Ca-Al-rich Inclusion (CAI)-chondrule object from the reduced CV3 chondrite Efremovka, composed of an amoeboid olivine aggregate (AOA) core surrounded by a type I chondrule mantle [1]. Its petrographic study indicates that a Ca-Al-rich AOA accreted an olivine + metal mantle akin to the precursors of type I chondrules and ...

Iron Isotope Composition of Allende and Chainpur Chondrules: Effects of Equilibration and Thermal History

Introduction: We have studied the petrography and Fe-isotope composition of seven chondrules, four from the Allende (CV3) carbonaceous chondrite and three from the Chainpur (LL3.4) ordinary chondrite. Three textural-chemical chondrule types are represented within this sample set: (1) BO, (2) RP and (3) PO/POP. These textural differences allow us to exa mine the Fe-isotope composition in materia...

Short time interval for condensation of high-temperature silicates in the solar accretion disk.

Chondritic meteorites are made of primitive components that record the first steps of formation of solids in our Solar System. Chondrules are the major component of chondrites, yet little is known about their formation mechanisms and history within the solar protoplanetary disk (SPD). We use the reconstructed concentrations of short-lived (26)Al in chondrules to constrain the timing of formatio...
